Karting by Tom B

I am Tom B and my main hobby is kart racing. Ever since i was seven years i have raced karts, at the age of 9 i won my first UAE karting championship in 2007. After racing in the UAE i got a chance to compete in international races in Italy. In Italy i raced in a tough compitition with a different engine and kart, this was good experience for me and was a great race for me in the end finishing in 6th out of 20 competitors. when i returned i started in the next competition it was the start of the new season in the UAE and was looking for the championship second time running. At the first race it went great for me as i drove to victory witch was a great start to the season for me. The season went great from there, winning 9 of the twelve racing and 11 podiums i repeated my sucess from last year by taking the DAMC championship and the Interclub kart championship.

I hope to do some more racing around the world and more in the UAE.

Spring Update

What a busy term we have had. We now need to get back on the blog and keep people updated. We have just finished our penguin project and now we have started our Macbeth unit of work. There will be a separate blog about that coming soon so watch out for that.

We have the scripts of our parts in the play but should we want to read more we can visit

http://www.readinganswers.com/display.php?cat_id2=22&flag=1&cat_id3=15

which has an abridged version of the script.

Remember learn your lines or Lady Macbeth will be wanting a word with you.

Victorians in the Modern Age

We have been using Google Docs today in a really cool way for our Victorian Presentations. Our class has been divided into groups so that we can become experts on various aspects of Victorian Life such as Victorian Families, The Industrial Revolution and Transport. By using Google Presentation each group can work on a different laptop for research and improving their subject knowledge of this area and at the same time they can contribute to the same presentation as the rest of their group. There has been a lot of positive talk in order to organise who is working on which slides and the presentations are shaping really well. Well done Year 6

Eid update

Hello Class 6POB Hope you are all well, enjoyed your break and ready for next week festivities. I've been in the UK and I must say it is ffffffrrrrrrreeeeeeezzzzing I've been wearing so many jumpers and I'm so glad I've got a nice, big coat otherwise I think I would still be an ice cube when I see you all again.

This week I saw Keyworth's Christmas Production of The Selfish Giant and I have to say it was fab they have so many talented children and they all did amazing. It makes me excited thinking about our class assembly and our own school production that we have coming up later in the year. It was really nice to meet the Keyworth class and I'm really impressed with the work you have been doing on Dubai with Miss Lees. So a big well done to Keyworth and thanks for all the big high fives - Have a super christmas.

Danny Lawrence comes to Kings

On Monday the 23rd of November we had a visit from a specical gymnast called Danny Lawrence - he was fantastic. From starting out in the sport at the age of 7 he has achieved many great things like competing in 3 world championships, and become the British Champion. now at the age of 24 he has just been made captain of the British Commonwealth Team.

We had a great afternoon with Danny doing stretches and circuit training and then the whole school came to watch him perform what he does best. First he showed us his forward rolls which we all thought was amazing until we saw a backwards somersault in the air being landed(that was phenomenal) but our favourite had to be the enormous jump into the forward roll. Danny was able to jump over 6people including our headmistress, Mrs Watson and Emily from our class.
