Hey Keyworth

Hello Miss Lees and Keyworth

We have been soooo busy again finishing our Art for the exhibition. Its all completed now so Mr O'Brien is happy as the swim squad nearly didn't get theirs finished as they had to leave school early to head over to Abu Dhabi for a big swimming gala.

We are loving all the comments that you have been sending, they are great. Thanks Nicole and Ali for all your brill questions and comments. The boys in our class love wrestling and football and want to know what teams you support. Like Miss Lees, Mr O'Brien supports Arsenal! He tries desperately to convert us but there are only a couple of fellow gooners in Rak, Mo and Tom H.

What fantastic poets you all are - we have been told that we are going to read the poetry you have written using Google Docs (very exciting) - we have also been using Google Docs for our writing journals and descriptive writing we would love you to read them if you get chance.

Next week we are looking at poetry as well and we will write about our playtimes too. We are very interested to know what sort of things you get up to in your playtime. Clowns? Sounds very interesting but if Miss Lees is involved then Mr O'Brien isn't surprised! Next week we will also be going to the beach which is just up the road from our school to be inspired to write some poetry. We will post them onto your Google Docs then you can read them.

Your play sounds really fun Vicky Pollard is really funny you should send us over a video when its finished so we can watch it - yeah but no but yeah! Olivia, to answer your questions, it takes about 7 and half hours to fly from Dubai to England and yes, we do have Non Uniform days in fact we just had one to raise money for the Arabian Leopard. We had to bring in 10 Dirhams (our currency) each to wear what we liked and we raised over 4000 Dirhams. Next week we will be dressing up as Americans so that will be fun too.

Its the weekend for us now and some of us are doing some very exciting things. It Tom H's birthday over the weekend and he is having a party, a few of us are going to watch Kylie in concert and some of us are going to watch the firework show that is happening on the Palm Island to celebrate the opening of the Atlantis Hotel. This is a big deal in Dubai so there are lots of celebrities - Mrs Kenny - our fab Teaching Assistant - said her friend saw Robert Di Nero at the airport. What will you guys be doing this weekend?

Well whatever you are getting up to we hope its fun filled.

Happy Blogging Keyworth.

Rakhim

Facts about Dubai (and arabian culture):

The azan (Muslim prayer call) Goes off 35 times a week in each mosque (5 times a day)!
Dubai is working on a project called the world in the Arabian Gulf, wich from an aerial view, looks like a map!

Can I just clarify something that will be very confusing for my class- I am not an Arsenal supporter!! As Keyworth know I am from Manchester and am therefore a proud Manchester United fan. Kings kids- please stay strong, don't let Mr O'Brien bully you into supporting a team who are not as good as UNITED!
Hope this helps,
Miss Lees

ps. What amazing weekends you've all had, Kylie and the fireworks sound fantastic. Maybe I'll have a sparkler in the snow tonight! Its so cold here and snow is expected- it's minus 4! We'll be wrapping up warm while you enjoy the sunshine!
